In the end, the key was to create an affordable luxury chronograph watch. Many other chronographs at this price point use cheaper Chinese movements to cut costs. Unfortunately, the quality control is not there, and up to half of the watches have to be shipped back to be replaced. The Seiko VK64 is made in Japan, with extremely precise engineering to create an incredibly robust movement. It is an example of the breakthrough meca-quartz technology, combining the extreme precision and accuracy of quartz technology, with the mechanical charm and complex charm of a mechanical chronograph. This extra low-carbon steel alloy is used for its corrosion resistance. The case is 42 mm in diameter, not including the crown. The watch actually wears smaller than other 42mm watches, due to the unique lug shape, meaning it will fit and even wider range of wrist sizes.
